Island Mist Coconut Yuzu is the latest addition to the Island Mist kit lineup. Flavored with coconut water and a splash of Yuzu, a Japanese citrus fruit, this wine is bursting with tropical aromas and flavors.
Yuzu, which is typically the size of a tangerine, has gained popularity in recent years and is being hailed as the next superfruit. Its acidity complements the sweetness of the coconut, resulting in a well-balanced wine.
The wine kit has the following characteristics: Sweetness: Sweet Body: Light Oak: None Alcohol: 6.5% - 7%
For those who prefer a stronger wine, the Island Mist series can be "boosted" by adding 1 pound of corn sugar and 1 liter of grape concentrate. This will increase the alcohol content to approximately 9.5-10%. However, it's important to note that simply adding corn sugar can leave the wine tasting "hot" and unbalanced. The addition of grape concentrate helps to maintain the balance and produces a more enjoyable end product.
The boosting process is straightforward. The corn sugar and grape concentrate should be mixed in during stage 1, after adding the main juice pack and before topping up to the 6-gallon mark with water.
This Coconut Yuzu Pinot Gris wine kit is light and fruity, and it takes only 4 weeks from start to finish to complete the winemaking process. The country of origin is the United States.
